Wenn es dir hilft kann ich dir ein paar Stichwörter geben um eine Charakterisierung zu schreiben:

The Nawab:
- a man in his prime
- graceful
- has an aquline profile
- Harry characterizes him as being strong and irresistible
- also described as a fascinating man, who's terrificially handsome
- "well-endowed by nature with looks, brains, personality, everything" (by Major Minnies)
- considered to be a very strong and manly person and nothing must stand in his way, when he wants sth.
- "In some ways he's a fine man. He has some fine qualities - and if these were only combined with a little self-restrained, self-discipline...." (cf. p. 137)
- somehow bored and frustrated
- the Nawab presents the stereotype of an Indian for the British: On the one hand he is a rouge (dacoits) and on the other hand he acts like a child (cf. p. 40)
- is similiar to Olivia because of his attempts to escape from boredom
- feels offended easily
- generous
- tender, sensitive
- egozentric
- two-faced
- imperious
- a born ruler (became a prince when he was 15)

Für Maji würde ich dir die Textpassage von Seite 150 bis 153 empfehlen

Inder Lal:
- educated
- grows up with Indian democracy and therefore modern India
- suffers from the burden of looking after his family, feels caught between his wife and dominant mother (cf. p. 79)
- passive and unsure of himself in the relationsship with the narrator (p. 119)
- the narrator sees that there is more to him than simply the "meek and bowed" Indian (cf. p. 52)
- similar role as the Nawab in the 1920s (cf. p. 120)

Dr. Gopal:
- Medical Superintendent
- suggest (just as Dr. Saunders that the British were never meant to live in India because of the bacteria (cf. p. 146)
